Application period opens for ND Main Street Grant Program – Grand Forks Herald

BISMARCK, ND — The North Dakota Department of Commerce has opened the application window for the 2022 Main Street Tourism Outdoor Recreation Grants. Applications will be accepted through August 9.

The grants are designed to support new or expanding businesses that provide new outdoor recreation opportunities, enhance visitor experiences, and focus on attracting visitors and visitor dollars to communities across North Dakota. North.

“With the unprecedented growth in outdoor recreation, these grants will help North Dakota businesses and communities meet this growing demand,” said Sara Otte Coleman, director of commerce, tourism and marketing.

“Many visitors and residents are looking for simple ways to enjoy our great outdoors and we hope these grants will support greater access to outdoor experiences.”

The purpose of this grant is to fund new projects capable of attracting visitors from outside of North Dakota for at least one night. New recreation opportunities, attractions, and funded improvements would provide the community and the state with additional experiences to entertain visitors and attract potential new residents.

The 2022 Main Street Tourism Outdoor Recreation Grant is a 2:1 matching grant program and all grant payments are made on a reimbursement basis. Eligible applicants can request up to $20,000 in funds.
