Black woman says Delta Air Lines turned down her job application until she applied as a white woman

A black woman says she applied to work as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines but failed to take the first step. This went on for five years until she said she checked the “white” box on request.

“Applying to Delta for a flight attendant position for 5 years and getting turned down. Apply because a white woman finally got a second interview email,” Regina De’Chabert said on ICT Tac.

Since posting the video, which now has tens of thousands of likes, some TikTok users have come to her defense in follow-up videos she posted.

One commenter said: “Sis, I agree with you. I have been in management for years. They made me hire Becky with less experience, less qualifications, with more salary.

Other users, however, criticize the video and comment that it could be about the young woman’s experience.

“Certainly not your skin color. It’s you since your LinkedIn says you’re a ZERO beautician, artist and airline.

Another TikTok user asked, “did your race change with your submissions?”

“I came to F2F with Delta and CJO with another heritage, and I’m a black woman. Let’s not reach,” one user commented.

De’Chabert responded to criticism by praising black women who got callbacks and jobs, adding, “Just because you got the job doesn’t mean I’m denying my experience.”
