playoff games, opening of the NBA playoff games

The second NBA season has arrived – the one with higher levels of energy and focus, where DNP-Rest will never see the box score.

After all 30 teams play the last day of the league on Sunday, the seeds for the NBA play-ins and then the playoffs are set. It all starts Tuesday night — with a preseason title favorite — with all 16 playoff teams in action over the weekend.

The seeding for the playoffs has been on the wire, but now we know not only the game, but also when the series will begin.

First, the playoff games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday:

April 12: (7) Brooklyn Nets vs. (8) Cleveland Cavaliers
April 13: (9) Atlanta Hawks vs. (10) Charlotte Hornets

April 12: (7) Minnesota Timberwolves vs. (8) Los Angeles Clippers
April 13: (9) New Orleans Pelicans vs. (10) San Antonio Spurs

The winners of the April 12 7/8 games qualify for the playoffs as the No. 7 seed in their conference. The losers of those 7/8 matches will face the winner of the 9/10 match in a win or go home contest for the No. 8 seed.

Then the playoffs begin on the weekend. The NBA has released the dates (and some times) of these first games in the series.

Buckle up, it’s going to be bumpy for the next few months.
